Account Manager

Reporting to the Account Director, you will work predominantly across our retail, direct mail and direct response client accounts. Your role will be to develop and maintain good working relationships with your clients, with a gained understanding of their business and markets. You will also manage relationships internally by developing and maintaining good working relationships with the wider Agency team.

Client Services

* Assist Account Director in strategic development and growth of accounts
* Manage and control day to day client contact
* Produce and distribute agendas to client prior to the meeting taking place
* Responsible for account admin: status reports; contact reports (distributed within 24 hours); meeting agendas and budget tracking and reporting
* Attend strategy and planning meetings (when appropriate, presenting at these when required)
* Ensure Agency standards are maintained with regard to the quality of written communications
* Present creative work (with Account Director/creative team as appropriate)

Project Management

* Prepare creative briefs, obtain client and internal approval and brief creative team
* Brief Production and Planning teams/resource, where appropriate
* Ensure all work produced is on brief
* Manage client's projects through the Agency and delivery from external suppliers (e.g. photographers, production companies, agents etc)
* Manage the approval process of broadcast communication bodies e.g. Clearcast and RACC
* Responsible for the delivery of client projects, from inception through to final outputs
* Ensure production schedules for all work are produced, updated and distributed to all those concerned
* Check artwork for accuracy and appropriateness against brand guidelines prior to forwarding to clients
* Oversee management of copy supply
* Issue copy instructions
* Ensure client approval is gained at each stage of the process, in line with project plans


* Manage time effectively with an eye on profitability.
* Understand and work with the synergist job management system
* Generate estimates and invoices in a timely manner and monitor and report on account profitability to Account Director on an ongoing basis
* Know credit insurance limits and payment terms for each client
* Understand and monitor target number of hours/income per hour for each client
* Monitor and control work in progress costs
* Production of estimates for client approval prior to proceeding
* Managing costs from third party suppliers ensuring best value for money
* Ensure production of Work In Progress reports and distributed to all those involved

Business Development

* Identify any business development opportunities, either with existing clients or potential clients and pursue them further, with support of the senior team if needed
* Coordinate the pitch process, taking the lead and/or supporting the senior team if appropriate
* Promote and the reputation of the Agency and its brand in the overall marketplace through attending networking events

Person Specification

* Demonstrable experience in digital marketing
* A knowledge of TV production and the copy clearance process an advantage
* Understand brand and marketing strategy
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to follow processes
* Attention to detail - with excellent account administration and proofreading and copy checking skills
* Ability to demonstrate a hands on approach to account management
* Comfortable presenting to clients - both creds meetings and presenting creative
* Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Excel and Powerpoint
* Excellent time and diary management skills
* Ability to multi-task
* Motivated, self-starter
* Experience of managing budgets, profitability and invoicing
