Are you an experienced Acceptance Manager seeking a new opportunity? An exciting contract has arisen to join a successful and expanding team within the Nuclear Industry. The role is an excellent opportunity to work in the centre of excellence for the management of Urenco materials, decommissioning and recycling.

Objective
To manage the Acceptance and Commissioning of the Legacy Container Facility (LCF) ensuring the scope and design meet UUK's Site requirements (including the TMF scope) and the technical aspects of the project are translated into a compliant and efficient operational facility.

Duties & Responsibilities
o "Intelligent Customer" for all technical aspects of the project from conceptual design through to hand over to Operations.
o Contribute as a member of the appropriate Committees (including, but not limited to, Design Committee, Design Steering Group, Weekly Project Management Meeting etc), reporting on progress of Design Acceptance activities as relevant to the LCF project.
o Organise and lead technical audits during all aspects of the project to ensure compliance with technical scope, regulatory requirements, local rules (including Company Instructions etc) and consistency with agreed standards/codes of practice.
o Support the Project Manager to ensure expectations, programmes, budget and quality/reliability are achieved. Responsible for ensuring that design, commissioning and safely targets met are achieved
o Ensure all aspects of the design incorporate fully the operational and maintenance requirements. Effective dialogue is established to communicate these requirements into all aspects of the design and specification via operational/maintenance reviews etc.
o Ultimately will direct a team of commissioning engineers and technicians to carry out the safe and effective commissioning of the LCF.
o Fulfils the role of Suitably Qualified & Experienced Person (SQEP) and Duly Authorised Person (DAP) as required under Nuclear Site Licence Condition 21(5) for the controlling, witnessing, recording and assessing the results of any tests carried out during commissioning.
o Responsible for the formulation of, and delivery to the Project Commissioning Plan and recruitment and management of the commissioning team to ensure that the facilities are commissioned safely to time and budget and meet the Business Plan and Project Acceptance requirements.
o Flexibly manages the commissioning function so that both long-term and most especially short-term changes to the project plan can be accommodated without jeopardising the project timescales and budget. Manages the successful hand over to Operations.
o Generate operational programmes of work and operational information, ie resource requirements, procedures, consumables forecasts.

Essential/Desirable Skills
o Experience of Commissioning Process Operations
o Experience of Managing Process Operations
o Significant nuclear experience with highly developed expertise and proficiency in plant operations.
o Typically chartered engineer in science or engineering with professional institution membership OR extensive experience
o An exemplary role model for leadership with the ability to inspire high standards of leadership across operations
o Broad understanding of regulatory requirements and own role in an abnormal event, system failure or emergency
