Accelerator System Engineer
Eingestellt von Roevin Management Services Limited
Gesuchte Skills: Engineering, Design, Engineer
Projektbeschreibung
-Ensure the translation of the designs into engineering solutions allowing to achieve the required performances, reliability and quality within a defined cost and safety frame;
-Study and evaluate risks arising from the design and prototyping phases to ensure feasible engineering solutions;
-Introduce engineering aspects and constraints as from the design phase;
-Build close relationships with key industries and research institutions for the various key technologies;
-As the technical architect of the development ensure that all sub-systems and their integration are correctly documented (technical specifications, requirements, acceptance criteria) in view of the procurement phase (suppliers selection, follow-up), the production phase (assembly, tests, integration, commissioning) and the exploitation phase;
-Define, build and maintain the bill of materials of the accelerator;
-Define and implement the feed-back loop allowing for continuous improvement with a particular focus on reliability aspects (with suppliers as well as the in house team);
-Technical reporting with an emphasis on technical risk evaluation and mitigation (define and build alternative technical solutions) as well as cost analysis;
-Act as the technical mentor for the technical team.
-Masters degree in industrial sciences (industrial engineer) or in engineering sciences (civil engineer) preferably in the area of electro-mechanics;
-Strong professional engineering background preferably in an R
-Knowledge of accelerator related technologies (beam diagnostics, magnetism, power RF systems, ultra high vacuum, large cryogenic systems, superconductivity, );
-Experience in particle accelerator design and engineering is a clear advantage;
-Hands-on experience in designing, engineering, production and commissioning of high-tech equipment;
-Ability to have a global view as well as an eye for detail;
-Motivation to become the technical leader of the project;
-Good communication, coordination and reporting skills;
-Able to organise work autonomously, good interpersonal skills;
-Excellent communication skills in English, given the international environment, knowledge of French and Dutch is an advantage;
-Willingness to work between two laboratories in Belgium and willingness to travel (up to 15%), periods of one to two weeks leave are possible.
