AAB Systems Programmer - IMS - Specialist Skills

AAB Systems Programmer: IMS-Specialist Skills is required by my client an international software consultancy to work within client sites in the Netherlands.

The day to day responsibilities of the AAB Systems Programmer: IMS-Specialist Skills will encompass:

- Carry out day-to-day performance & tuning (infrastructure & applications) 
- Advise and assist in project related activities concerning performance and tuning (infrastructure & applications) 
- Investigate and solve IMS and DB2 for z/OS related incidents and problems 
- Handle requests and answer questions from (internal and external) customers related to IMS and DB2 for z/OS 
- Carry out 'Business As Usual' work like health checks, administrative tasks, security requests 
- Generate ideas to improve procedures and work methods and put these ideas into practice 
- Main focus is on IMS. In case of holidays, illness or high workload also DB2 for z/OS activities must be performed  

The core experience of the AAB Systems Programmer: IMS-Specialist Skills should include:

-  Provable extensive knowledge of IMS DB & IMS TM v11 and v12 including IMS connect 
- Install and maintain other IBM IMS related products and Third Party Software for IMS TM and IMS DB 
- Provable extensive knowledge of IMS DB backup & recovery 
- Provable extensive knowledge of IMS TM & IMS DB  & application performance & tuning 
- Knowledge and usage of monitoring products as Mainview and analysis tools IMS connect extensions, IPI, IPA 
- Knowledge of Parallel Sysplex facilities 
- "Medium level of knowledge of DB2 for z/OS 
- Provable knowledge of:
- DB2 v9 and v10 
- DB2 backup & recovery and other utilities
- DB2 application performance & tuning
- Parallel Sysplex and DB2 data sharing
- DB2 connect and DB2 drivers

This role is offered at market rate.
