A/V LAB Engineer

Our client has built an end-to-end TV services platform for delivering a modern, complete, broadcast television service and unparalleled user experience over a broadband IP network. This is a super contract opportunity for an A/V Lab Engineer to work for the IPTV Operations Infrastructure group.

REQUIREMENTS

- Installation, configuration, and support of live encoders, signal processors, transcoders, and broadcast data insertion equipment in the IPTV A/V ecosystem
- Lifting and racking encoders, signal processors, transcoders, broadcast data insertion equipment and Servers as necessary
- Network analysis and forensics skills dealing with layer 1-4 problems
- Accurate documentation, labeling, and device tracking
- Maintenance of Real Time analysis tools and logging systems for data driven results and service health tracking
- Effective communication with engineering, test, and product development groups to define the technical requirements of A/V ecosystem

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical role pertaining to compressed media, video, or other technology field
- Must have proven experience with encoding, media compression, and digital audio and video
- Examples include:
- Encoding and compression tools (Digital Rapids, Harmonic/Rhozet, Inlet Phathom)
- Professional video editing software
- Analysis of compressed material, understanding of 3:2 pull-down, video frame rates and broadcast standards
- Solid understanding of core video, audio, and transport technologies, including MPEG-2, H.264, H.265, Dolby compression technologies, and MPEG-2/4 containers
- Must have technical knowledge of basic Copper and Fiber networking, TCP/IP, BOOTP, DNS, Switching, Routing, VLANs, Multicast, SNMP, NTP and related technologies as they pertain to Real Time delivery of streaming media
- Must have technical knowledge and hands-on experience of basic network and video cabling infrastructure
- Knowledge in Unix and Windows based operating and Embedded systems
- Ability to adapt quickly and work unsupervised in a complex, dynamic technical environment
- Careful attention to detail and strong interpersonal communication skills required
- Composure and ability to work well under pressure

This contract position is expected to be one year in duration.
