Web Developer

An opportunity exists for a capable Web Developer to join a large government organization for a short term contract. The contract will be anywhere from 4 - 6 weeks. The ideal candidate will have excellent presentation and communication skills in addition to the required technical criteria.

IN THIS POSITION YOU WILL:

- Advise on the most suitable tool to develop and maintain the static content site.
- Build approximately 30 static content pages, including setting up CSS according to established standards.
- Develop appropriate template(s)
- Transfer text and documents into these pages from existing content management system, editing for consistency
- Develop support guides for ongoing updates to new pages
- Train existing web authors to create and edit new pages
- Provide a strategy for maintaining the content (eg how to roll back changes)
- Advise on page layout for government online services site. Some page-level redesign possible within existing constraints.

CORE COMPETENCY WILL INVOLVE:

- Strong web development skills using HTML, JavaScript and CSS
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of accessibility standards and how to implement them within a static content site.
