The Vendor Manger will own and understand contractual, commercial and operational working relationships with key vendors to ensure contractual commitments are delivered. The Vendor Manger will work across ICT, defining and agreeing a vendor governance framework and an agreed relationship map between ICT and vendor. The Vendor Manager will maximise the value received from Strategic sourcing arrangements.

Key Accountabilities for the Vendor Manger:

Reviewing major vendors, service delivery contracts, ensuring performance and delivery costs are as agreed, and challenging them on future service improvements and efficiency savings.
Acting as subject matter expert on designated IT vendors acting as key vendor reference point for contractual, commercial and IT strategy and capabilities.
Acting as the custodian of the vendor relationship and stakeholder plan.
Leading the Suppler, Value Assessments activity
Conducting formal assessment of vendor relationship and act as the primary communication channel with the vendor.
Owning the vendor Governance process as detailed in the vendor contract, or in line with changing business needs.
Working with Procurement to optimise contractual agreements with a focus on better for less and compliance with contractual service obligations.
Working with Procurement to track and record all contractual changes to ensure that ICT has a current and accurate view on contract scope and charging mechanisms.
Assessing impact upon cost base of any sourcing activity or change within the service model currently received by the client
Conducting reviews of current sourcing strategy and any future changes and implementation against new strategies.

Essential:
You will be an experienced IT professional with a background in working with complex multiple out sourced vendors.
You will have experience in financial commercial modeling.
You will have an understanding of the organisation's IT/Information Systems plans, business objectives and some awareness of comparable organisations.
You will be aware of Government financial accounting treatments.
You will have wide and detailed IT knowledge, together with detailed understanding of the principles of business and markets and sound experience of relevant business sectors.
You will be able to operate comfortably at senior levels in a variety of situations.
You will have strong communications, relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills.
You will have an analytical and creative approach to problem solving.
You will be able to absorb new technical, commercial and business concepts, and have demonstrable experience of this.

Desirable:
Familiarity with the Government IT Profession and cross government IT policies.
Understanding of the Government and working in the Justice system.
Familiarity with relevant national and international legislation pertaining to the Government/Public Sector IT e.g. Data Protection Act, Information Assurance policy.
Awareness of the social, environmental and corporate impact of ICT
