Validation Technician

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a VALIDATION TECHNICIAN to join our client in Chandler, AZ.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- The Validation Technician will be collecting measurement data on server computer platforms, specifically for power delivery and signal noise.
- The Validation Technician will be expected to multi-task responsibilities including: minor preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, non-standard processing and problem-solving.
- The Validation Technician will also perform competent board level reworks like removing SMT discrete components, adding blue wires etc. Can perform more involved reworks like cutting traces and adding R/C, etc.
- Technician will also be expected to effectively communicate and organize using various MS Office products.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have at least an AS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related subject matter.
- Capable of using the Soldering machines and tools required to rework board and package down to the discrete passive component level such as 0402 resistor/capacitor.
- Working knowledge of business practices and procedures in lab operations.
- Knows what common Computer systems parts are, can identify them and knows what they are for (like Memory, CPU, HDDs, USBs, power supply, etc).
- Good and solid basic Analog background/skills (ohm law, Power formula, Current laws, etc).
- Experience in using oscilloscope, DMM, pattern generator, spectrum analyzer, including advance functions such as math function, complex triggering setup.
- Understanding basic system/platform power on process and procedure.
- Good understanding of the boot up process of a validation platform and capable of narrowing down a 'dead' platform to possible defect area by eliminating variables.
- Independently debug common validation platform issues including possible attached problems/capable of triaging issues by using information from post codes, ITP, schematics, board files, etc.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE

- Experience in using JBERT and CLK generator is a plus.
- Experience in working with PCIE, USB, SATA, and DDR IO interfaces is a plus.
- Experience in platform power on and debug is a plus.
- Able to setup (install, un-install, download latest versions, keep Updated), configure and run ITP scripts.
- Knows how to use PythonSV scripts, how to keep them updated.
- Experience working with Validation platforms, debugging them; know how to connect its most basic parts, etc.
- Basic knowledge of test cards and plugin cards (like PCIe Video Cards, Legacy LTC Cards, etc).
