Technical Writer

These will include internal and external users of the ICT systems.

KEY DELIVERABLES

- Develop a strategy and plan for developing user documentation for web based ICT systems
- Develop the structure and content of user documentation
- Assist the development of training material
- Support a team with preparing material that will assist business change

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

- The successful applicants will have proven skills and experience in assisting government agencies to develop the user documentation elements of delivering a complex ICT system.
- Applicants should have outstanding documentation skills, show initiative and be outcome focussed.
- Applicants must be able to build strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders, be an effective team player and have a focus on successful outcomes

THE CRITERIA

- Applicants should provide a brief (1 to 2 page) statement that summarises their experience and suitability for the role with respect to the following criteria.

CORE SKILLS

- Demonstrated effective strategic planning, management and leadership skills within a high profile project with tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people with a strong client focus.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Previous experience in designing and developing user documentation for a complex ICT System
- Knowledge of technical writing methodologies or approaches
- Technical writing qualifications.
- Experience in developing training material.
