£18,638 - £23,188 PRO RATA
PART TIME 23 HOURS PER WEEK
SOUTHEND ON SEA
FIXED TERM CONTRACT UNTIL MARCH 2015

THIS POSITION DEMANDS FLEXIBLE HOURS WITH THE ABILITY TO WORK EVENINGS AND OUT OF OFFICE HOURS

ABOUT THE ROLE
Work with communities and community members to enable them to:

- Help your community identify community issues, needs and problems; 
- Help your community identify opportunities, plan what they want to achieve, and take appropriate action,
- Develop activities to improve their lives, such as community led activities with a particular focus on the lives of families facing difficulties within your community
- Link families in your community who need early help into the wide range of early support available to prevent their needs escalating
- Network and build contacts in order to help develop what is needed in the area and what families need
- Identify local issues that are important to your community and opportunities to support local partners work with families involved with the Streets Ahead programme
- Work with professionals and other volunteers who have a similar role in the community (such as Neighbourhood Wardens, community organisers etc)
- Encourage all people in the community to take ownership of the programme, develop future activities and to become further engaged with making their local area thrive and be a good place to live
- Assist in recruiting volunteers
- Achieve set targets and outcomes and help to ensure monitoring is completed so as to evidence the impact of the programme
- General administrative duties including keeping information packs up to date, key contact lists and dealing with telephone enquiries
- Record Keeping
- To work flexible hours and attend training as required
- Any other duties as required

ABOUT YOU
The potential candidate would ideally be a resident of St Lukes Ward and or be an involved member of the community the project is based within St Lukes Ward, have experience of volunteering or active citizenship within the community and personal life experience which has faced and addressed.
