STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - STRATEGY MANAGER - MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT

Our client, a large national organisation with a large portfolio of property and estate network, has recently undergone a significant modernisation programme.

The Strategy Development Manager will be responsible for aligning the transformational strategy as internal and external influences impact, requiring us to reset the plans. This will include incorporating into a refreshed strategy any wider business strategy and policy decisions which affect it and as part of this the engagement of business plan owners is key.

The main task will be formulating updates and developing new proposals to be used to gain sign-off from key senior internal stakeholders at director level, enabling the programme to work within a clear mandate at all times.

Outputs will include developing and preparing strategic updates to the board and General Executive, including reports, presentations and board papers to track progress, highlight key risks to the programme and detail modifications and changes to the overall strategy.

The ideal person is someone who has the experience and ability to create strategic plans and presentations as a result of engaging with subject matter experts and key stakeholders within the organisation. You will thrive on working at pace and possess excellent written communication and stakeholder management skills. Core duties:

- Draw out the alignment of all initiatives within the Network Development Programme with the wider business strategy
- Interpreting requirements and aligning with the strategic programme
- Recommend fresh or alternative strategic approaches in line with changing circumstances
- Creates formal reports, presentations and papers to update key stakeholders - Directors, General Executive, Chief Executive, Transformation Board - of progress against strategic objectives
- Recommend briefings with key stakeholders to ensure critical decisions are made at the appropriate time to enable the programme to continue within a clear mandate.

Required skills:

- Proven Strategy management with a large organisation and strategy design and implementation
- Experience of preparing business cases and the ability to compile reports and proposals for business strategies
- Experience of board level presentation
- Background in Management consultancy
- Experience of complex business focused strategic change management.
- Experience of External Stakeholder engagement
- Ability to work with senior stakeholders to improvement effectiveness and efficiency of projects and initiatives
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills who can capture hearts and minds through powerful communication both written and orally
