My client, a leading public sector organisation, is seeking to recruit a skilled Strategic Procurement Specialist to join their Procurement Services Team onsite in Newcastle. As a Strategic Procurement Specialist, you will be required to support my client on one of their current contracts, responsible for managing the procurement process and providing expert skills in support of negotiating a solution that provides value for money. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of public sector procurement experience and able to hit the ground running.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
*To be responsible for managing the procurement process and provide expert skills in support of negotiating a solution that provides value for money, developing and drafting contracts including schedules and service agreements.
*The Strategic Procurement Specialist will lead in contract negotiations and will also be responsible for identifying and optimising synergies wherever possible across the organisation
*Use autonomy to influence commercial decision making by use of their technical, contract, legal skills and market knowledge.

Key Knowledge and Skills
*MCIPS
*Prince 2
*AT LEAST 5 YEARS' public sector procurement experience,
*OJEU
*Knowledge of the Public Sector Contract Regulations
