Software Engineer

EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER contract opportunity at a highly regarded firm in eastern Cleveland, OH metro. Projected 2 year assignment. Must have solid C/C++ programming experience. Per diem available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Analyze embedded real-time software, design, and test
- Program embedded software using C/C++/ARM assembly language and use of emulators, logic analyzers for debugging for multicore processors
- Apply object-oriented analysis, design, and programming techniques
- Work as part of a team interfacing with hardware engineering and embedded software engineering
- Write unit tests

REQUIREMENTS

- BS degree in Computer Science with a concentration in hardware, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with concentration in software; or equivalent knowledge in the areas of embedded real-time software engineering (requirements analysis, design, testing), data structures, algorithms, and C/C++ language
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in real-time embedded software programming in C/C++ ("must have")/ARM assembly language and use of emulators, logic analyzers for debugging
- Knowledge of object-oriented analysis, design, and programming technique
- Experience in writing unit tests, preferably with CPP Unit
- A PLUS to have experience in any of: (a) developing and debugging embedded software for multicore processors or knowledge of ARM processor architecture, (b) writing device drivers, preferable for Wind River VxWorks, (c) agile development methodology, (d) Wind River Workbench and VxWorks real-time operating system, or (e) USB device side driver development
- Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills and collaborative work style
