Software Developer

Context:
ASMLs SW developers create software for the new Extreme Ultra Violet light source that will be part of ASMLs new generation of machines. These SW developers need an environment to develop, archive and build code, and put binaries on a test machine in the form of software patches. 

Our build team develops the mentioned tooling used by the SW developers. The tooling is implemented on virtualized Servers. We automate software build with make files and Jenkins. We create and roll out a new development environment based on WindRiver workbench (Eclipse-based). We also rollout virtual test environments, based on machine simulations. Old Scripting is written in Perl, the new scripts are written in Python.

Daily support of the existing environments is done by our support department and is not part of our activities. Our team focuses on enhancement of the build environment.

Job Description:

- Create customizations of tools like Jenkins, make, svn. For example to be able to schedule software builds towards various types of build Servers.
- Create scripts in Python, to automate tasks for developers
- Define improvement proposals that focus on system performance and process efficiency for end-users.
- Strong partner in discussions with the very experienced SW developers.

THOROUGH UNDERSTANDING AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE WITH:

- Defining SW development process
- Integrating tools to support the SW development process
- Software build, make files
- Create Python scripts
- Agile Scrum methodology
- Experience with Linux command line (bash)
- It is very important that you can collect requirements/acceptance criteria and work according to a plan.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
Build new parts of and provide support on existing S/W development, build, test, release infrastructure.

- Pragmatic, practical, flexible (occasional evening or weekend work) and committed to quality.
