We are currently recruiting for two Software Developer roles, both based in Manchester for 4 months initially with an ASAP start. One role will be working with the application of client-side technologies and the other will be working with the Java Server Side technologies.

Both roles will require you to provide software and system development and technical support. You will design and implement web applications and you will analyse and advise on alternative technical solutions.

Essential
Experience developing software applications - Medium to large web applications
Experience of managing software development (Either client-side technologies or Java based Server Side technologies)
Knowledge and experience of software development methodologies
Integrated software development environments including version control and bug tracking systems
Jquery and Ajax
Web technologies (eg. HTML/XHTML, Javascript, CSS, Knockout)
Expert knowledge of XML, XSLT, DTD, XSD, and related technologies
Restfull technologies
SOAP
Digital Repository software (eg eprints, Dspace, Fedora)
Knowledge of Relational database (eg Oracle, MS SQL and MySQL)

Desired
Knowledge of higher education or working in large libraries
Knowledge of digital library metadata standards
