Client Site Representative - Wirral - 24 Month Contract - Negotiable Hourly Rate

Client Site Representative for Cable Installation.

The appointed client representative will be responsible for monitoring the activities of the contractor and their subcontractors in relation to the installation of the onshore cable and to assure the compliance of the contractor and their subcontractors with their contractual obligations, on behalf of this client. The post will be predominantly field based however will include attendance and recording of meetings at locations around the Wirral and Manchester and other such project activities.

Experience Required:

-Ideally Over 5 years experience in a similar role (site management on HV cable projects)
-Excellent health and safety knowledge and knowledge of CDM regulations

Qualifications Required:

Minimum ONC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline

NEBOSH (or other professional qualification in Health and Safety management)

Full UK driving license and own vehicle

Technical/Role Specific Competencies:

Expert knowledge of:

* Construction activities within the electricity/gas transmission industry

* Application of CDM regulations

* The health and safety expectations expectation of a large (electricity) transmission company

Working knowledge of:

* Civil Engineering associated with cable/pipeline construction activities

* How large turnkey contracts work & the relationship between Employer, Contractor & Subcontractors

* Environmental legislation

* Constructing long linear projects

Key Tasks:

Monitoring and assessment of the planning, engineering, progress and execution of the activities of the cable installation contractor and subcontractors on the Western Link HVDC Project.

Monitoring and assessment of the environmental mitigation measures associated with onshore cable activities.

Informing the Western Link HVDC Project and Management teams in respect of any identified risks to safety, the environment, the project schedule, quality and system integrity, by review and monitoring of the planning, engineering, progress and execution of the activities of cable installation contractor and subcontractors on the Western HVDC Link Project.

Observing and confirming the compliance of the as-laid and installed cable, with such agreements and specifications as laid down in the EPC Contract and/or by third parties and appropriate interested authorities, where these have been agreed and specified with client Upgrades Limited and/or the Project Team.

Liaising and consultation with other the wider project team including consultants as engaged by the clients Upgrades Limited in relation to the Western Link HVDC project.

Additional Information:

Travel to other project sites may be required from time to time.

There may be need to work on weekends depending on operational needs.
