Service Manager - Social Work/Adult Care

Service Managers - Public Sector Contract - 4 months - Lochgilphead (flexible)

My public Sector client has a requirement for Service Managers to cover current project work initially until the end of March 2014. Excellent opportunity for candidates with management experience from a Social Work (Children and Families) or an Adult Care (Learning and Disability) background.
The main function of the role is to have responsibility for the management of the Social Work or the Adult Care Services across the authority area.

Role Requirements:
Candidates must have some or all of the following:
-Hold a DipSW or equivalent
-Have around 5-6 years management experience within a Social Care setting coming from a social work background OR middle management experience of Adult care Services with a wide range of experience within a health/social care setting
-Management experience of Children and families social work/child protection or Adult Protection Practice
-Evidence of operational management skills within a social work or Adult protections practice
-Performance evaluation and training/development experience would also be ideal
-Excellent communication skills are also essential with the ability to team build and establish rapport with members, colleagues and the community
-Looking for some candidates to also be SSSC registered
-Drivers licence and ability to travel are essential
-PVG membership/Enhanced Disclosure Scotland is also essential

Location - Ideally Lochgilphead but there is some flexibility around Lochgilphead, Helensburgh, Dunoon and Oban. Travel will be required.
