Senior Project Design Engineer - Manchester - up to £40,000 - Permanent An Experienced Project Design Engineer with design and experience of managing projects is required to join this brilliant company expanding their engineering team. The company are well established and renowned for the design and manufacturing of fluid/gas flow components and systems for multiple industries including petrochemical, nuclear, aerospace and defence. The successful candidate will be involved in varying projects whereby the QA requirement will be crucial whilst managing a supplier base at a distance. This an exciting and challenging opportunity for someone who wants to apply their expertise in a varied role within a forward moving company. Few key competencies for the role -Lead and implementation of the project from both a design aspect and timescale. -Plan and schedule project time lines. -Developed and monitor QA requirements of the project. -Carry out design calculations in relation to the relevant standards for the projects. -Define project key tasks and implement. -Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions. -Write and obtain approval for all the procedures required with regard to all the processes involved. (NDT, Welding, Crack detection) -Some project management experience You will have: -Must live and be eligible to work in the UK -Degree-qualified or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline -Knowledge in one or more of the following the components areas -Valves, Pressure Vessels, Actuators, Heat Exchangers or Pumps - Appreciation of materials and manufacturing methods -Nuclear industry experience would be desirable but not essential. -The ability to apply existing technical expertise and a sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles to varied projects.
