Senior Project Accountant
Location: Milton Keynes
Contract Duration: 4 Months
Rate: Up to £330 per day

Senior Project Accountant required with the following skills/experience:

* PQE is ideal but Project Accountant experience is a must, as is Advanced MS Excel know-how.
* Student/part membership (or equivalent) of the relevant professional body having progressed to the final stage of qualification, or possession of sufficient experience to fulfil the requirements of the role without membership of the relevant professional body
* Experience in project accounting for large construction projects desirable
*You will be a very hands on person who is has advanced level skills in MS Excel, knowledge of Oracle very desirable.

Job Purpose:
To provide the business Directors and Managers with a comprehensive and quality financial support for their portfolio of works.

Key Accountabilities:
1. Support the Function in achieving their objectives and targets.
2. Lead and manage project accountants, identifying resource requirements and recruiting as necessary.
3. Develop and maintain budgetary control over the programme of works by reporting variances, utilisation and risks/opportunities to the various Business Directors and Managers in an appropriate format and in a timely manner.
4. Develop and maintain accounting procedures to deliver integrity of costs, income, forecasts and budgets. Complete all technical accounting tasks in line with current standards and rules.
5. Embed corporate governance processes within projects and monitor compliance.
Provide financial advice and support to the business team informing them of the project, function and company finances. This includes understanding tax implications of financial decision making in the project.
