Senior Mechanical Engineer

Immediate need for a Senior Mechanical Engineer southeast of Boston Massachusetts! Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10 years expertise in the medical industry (preferable implantables) to design and characterize innovative medical devices, and assist with product testing and validation. Candidate will be responsible for various aspects of product development including mechanical design, materials procurement, feasibility hardware fabrication, and development and execution of characterization testing. Candidate MUST be strong with Microsoft Project and have a strong personality and desire to keep projects on schedule. This is a contract with the potential to go perm with a well established medical service company. Come join a great team in a great area!

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Participate in the mechanical design and development of various medical devices
- Generate solid models, drawings and specifications
- Prepare and execute characterization and environmental tests to verify the design and performance of the devices
- Interface with vendors for critical component selection and tool qualification
- Define and develop processes related to the design, analysis, test, manufacture, quality and productivity

REQUIREMENTS

- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering along with 4 to 6 years of product design/development experience with Solidworks modeling software (medical device required)
- Must have proven Microsoft Project experience along with a strong personality and desire to keep projects running on schedule and budget
- A working understanding of FDA QSR and ISO-13485 principles and demonstrated skill in integrating these into the engineering discipline
- Experience in the design and development of implantable medical device is highly desired
- Functions efficiently as both a team member and independently with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while demonstrating solid verbal communication and written skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office a must
