MY DUTIES:

- Closely work with project management to design, implement, and test AI model pipelines
- Develop user documentation for model pipelines
- Help to develop new ideas for AI-based solutions to support insurance processes
- Support pilots to collect requirements and validate platform components
- Develop and improve models in the area of NLP, Vision, and Tabular
- Respond to customer requests (in particular data scientists on the provider and client side) and resolve technical issues pragmatically
- Scout the AI provider landscape
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand and curate assets and services
- Prepare presentations for technical and non-technical audiences
- Coach other ML engineers working in the same team

MY QUALIFICATIONS:

- (Senior) ML engineer with strong technical and communication skills
- Experience in coaching and leading ML engineering (project) teams
- Ability to work in a goal-oriented and independent way with little guidance on technical details
- Service-oriented mindset and ambition to provide great experience of provider and customer data scientists using the new platform
- Data Science background with very good knowledge in bringing models into production (e.g., using pipelines, Docker, k8s-based APIs, etc.)
- Experience with creating models in the NLP, Vision, and Tabular space using common frameworks and architectures (Tensorflow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, etc.)
- Practical experience using cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google, etc.) and services/systems (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
- Practical experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Terraform and Ansible)
- Fluent German (in addition to English) is a big plus
