Senior IT Facilities Officer

An opportunity has become available for a Senior IT Facilities Officer to coordinate changes and repairs to the communications cabling infrastructure. The position also has responsibility for the development and support of computing and communications.

YOUR SKILLS AND BACKGROUND:

- Extensive experience with and detailed technical knowledge of modern communications cabling system in particular, structured building cabling systems, and fibre optic cabling
- Experience working with projects involving the installation and commissioning of building cabling systems in a project management or senior technical role
- Experience supervising external communications/electrical contractors in the installation of complex communication cabling systems
- Experiencing in writing and reviewing technical briefs for complex cabling system installations
- An understanding of end-user/business ICT requirements and translating these into a detailed technical scope of works
- A current White Card certification

DESIRABLE:

- Experience in the operation/management of data centre facilities including power, cooling, equipment racks, data centre cabling systems
- Experience in the operational/management of modern digital CCTV systems
- Familiarity with wireless and wired networking technologies such as Ethernet, TCP/IP
- Knowledge of IP Telephony and/or VoIP technology
- An understanding of project management methodology such as Prince2 or PMBOK
