Senior Data Scientist Job

Senior Data Scientist needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in St. Louis, MO

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Solid understanding of the theory and mathematics behind the analytical method
- Excellent programming skills
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries and working with databases
- Experience in statistics modelling or data mining
- Experience in Clinical Research

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

- Perform Lead and conduct advanced analytical studies in their entirety, from project inception and design through preparation, analysis and the delivery of results and presentations
- Design complex and large-scale datasets to be used for statistical modelling and data mining
- Perform statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining methods which could include but not limited to clustering, segmentation, logistic and multivariate regression, decision/CART trees, neural networks, time-series analysis, sentiment analysis, topic modelling, random forests, and Bayesian analysis
- Conduct explanatory data analysis to generate and test working hypotheses, prepare data sources and analyze the results
- Visualize, interpret, report, and communicate data findings creatively in a various formats and audiences
- Build relationships with key internal and external clients
- Ensure work is disciplined and adheres to quality control procedures
- Think creatively and work well both as part of a team and as an individual contributor

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Finance, Engineering, Operations Research, Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, Information Systems, or related quantitative disciplines, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience (Bachelor's required, Master's or PhD's preferred)
- Excellent programming skills using SAS and/or R
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries and working with databases
- Strong problem solving skills
