Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d)

For our client in Germany we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d).

Your tasks:
- Provide strong Engineering judgement and be able to provide recommendations despite uncertainty.
- Technically lead, review, and approve designs and equipment selection for the new data centers and communication rooms, prepare upgrades and design-solutions, which add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency
- Establish and maintain processes, procedures and guidelines, KPI and governance (e.g. Access, Monitoring, Standards for Device Hardware, Reporting) for the newly planned datacenter as a blue print which also can be rolled out to the existing datacenter in future.
- Develop an Incident / Change Management process / governance for datacenter related topics.
- Initiate and technically lead engineering site audits. Produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediations. Report, document, and initiate improvement measures for operational standard deviations.
- Develop templates and processes for inventory, maintenance, and repair work management.
- Low-Level Rack-Design including Power and Cable-Management together with CoLo Supplier
- Create Handover documentation and trainings for Operating Teams
- Develop process guidelines for Disaster Recovery Management
- Interact with third-party contractors and external suppliers
- Act as a field engineer during new construction projects at construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Your qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 6+ cumulative years of experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission
- Critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, oil / gas facilities.
- Experience with technical monitoring, documentation and administration (e.g. SLA tracking)
- Advanced in German and English
- Organized and have the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines and budget.
- Possess leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.
- Experience as resident engineer or hands-on (in the field) design consultant.
- Knowledge of building codes and data center regulations for Germany especially in banking sector.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
- Ability to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/mass production.
- Possess excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standards.
- Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers (Including but not limited to: cable systems, uninterruptable power sources, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, etc...).
- Have fluent knowledge of continuous operating redundant electrical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment systems and building management systems.
- Ability to develop solutions and execute plans on complex projects
- Previous ownership of fast track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade project
