School Health Specialist II

Position Summary:

The School Health Specialist interacts daily with students and is a fundamental link in school health services. This position is a licensed nurse who provides school health services for students under the direction and supervision of the Medical Director, RN School Shift Coordinator and School Health Supervisor. The School Health Specialist participates in the health care process of new staff/volunteers and actively participates in health center and department process improvements. The Float and PRN staff will support the work of the Full time clinic staff, attend all staff meetings/in-services and be flexible in their assignments. School Health Specialists caring for medically fragile students organize and implement student specific school health care and request assistance from RN Shift Coordinator/
Supervisor in obtaining, reviewing and implementing specific doctor's orders.

Minimum Qualifications: Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Required Length and Type of Experience:

Minimum 3 years experience in healthcare. Experience in pediatrics or school health preferred.

Required Licensure, Certification or Registry:

Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Ohio required. Registered Nurse preferred.
