SCALA DEVELOPER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Pontiac, Michigan.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Extremely well versed in at least one JVM language {Scala, Java, Clojure} Scala is preferred.
- Prior experience developing services, modelling in REST vs RPC, and both NoSQL and traditional RDBMS's.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Developing data access libraries that bring MapReduce, Graph, and RDBMS data to users of Scala, Java, Python, and R
- Developing Real Time data synchronization systems with reactive programming concepts like Akka and Kafka
- Writing data ingestion systems to pull data from traditional RDBMS platforms such as Oracle and Teradata and store it in NoSQL databases such as Neo4J, HBase, Cassandra
- Implementing analytical engines that pull data from API data sources and then present data back as either an API or persist it back into a NoSQL platform.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Experience in OS X and/or.NIX
- Experience with concurrency and/or distributed systems
- Extremely well versed in at least one JVM language {Scala, Java, Clojure} Scala is preferred.
- Prior experience developing services, modelling in REST vs RPC, and both NoSQL and traditional RDBMS's.
- Prior experience with AWS, Docker/Containers, Scala, and Actors preferred.
- Experience producing and consuming open source software
- Knowledge of streaming analytics tools such as Kafka, Samza
- Understanding of Microservice architecture
- Machine Learning, Bayesian Methods, other analytical techniques
