Roaming Engineer

Job Description:
The System Engineer/expert - Roaming operations will report to the Roaming Operations Manager. He/she will be part of a team that will integrate and test new roaming partners over all technologies, safeguard the roaming performance, provide roaming knowledge and provide corrective and preventive maintenance for roaming activities.

Duties and responsibilities
1. Provide 2nd line maintenance on roaming network and client issues. Tackle all roaming related technical problems, troubleshooting, reporting and resolution of any Roaming issue.
2. Execute Work orders and assist network operations with regards to roaming.
3. Perform roaming tests for different technologies (voice, data, SMS, 2G,3G and LTE), implement and debug the roaming configuration.
4. Implement, operate and maintain roaming related platforms (steering, SMS welcome, short code translation, CLI transfer ). Implement and update roaming relationships (IR21)
5. Analyse system reports and alarms; make diagnoses as input for continuous improvement.
6. Participate in interdepartmental projects relating to Roaming.

Skills and Experience:
Good GSM, GPRS, UMTS and LTE knowledge.
Experience in mobile core telecommunications network
Good knowledge of signalling protocols (ISUP, CAP, MAP, SIGTRAN, DIAMETER, etc.)
Network interfaces such as A-Interface, Gb, Gn, GP, luPS,lur, lub, Nc, Mc,
Troubleshooting experience.

Languages:
Good knowledge of English (written and oral), any other language is an extra advantage
