Research Associate Job

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE needed for a CONTRACT job opportunity with Yoh's client located in San Diego, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE:

- A temporary Research Associate position is now available within the Department of Oncology Research. The Department participates in numerous oncology drug discovery projects by developing novel cellular assays, evaluating small molecule drug candidates in cell-based screens using plate-based readouts, assessing and validating new targets, and profiling the molecular mechanism of action of drug candidates.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The candidate is expected to perform experiments independently, be able to learn new techniques rapidly, communicate effectively, and perform data analysis. The individual must be confident, motivated, and able to contribute to team success.
- Execute weekly cell-based assays for project support
- Analyze and interpret scientific data; troubleshoot and propose solutions
- Work independently with moderate supervision
- Have open communication, positive interpersonal and teamwork skills, and timely, accurate maintenance of written reports

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Applicants should have a BA/BS degree with at least four (4) years of practical experience in a research laboratory or a Master's degree with at least two (2) years practical experience.
- The ideal candidate should have expertise with cell culture techniques and general molecular and cell biology skills such as ELISA, western blotting, and cell assay development. Competence with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint is required. Experience in drug development and an understanding of signal transduction pathways is a plus.
