Project Manager with a Construction Background. for MOD Defense - Activ

KEY TASKS AND DELIVERABLES

ROLE:

To manage property, infrastructure and related services to ensure the strategic management of the Defence Estate as a whole whilst optimising investment in order to support military capability to best effect Position Role: The post holder is one of the nine DIO Project Managers accountable and responsible for the delivery of infrastructure capital projects in the UK and Overseas. The post provides SME input to the early development of programmes and projects and is responsible for the implementation of projects through the tender and construction processes

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for the delivery of option studies, tender and construction documentation, managing risks in order to drive optimal delivery for MOD.

2. Responsible for the management of Contractors for assigned projects (including PSP and Framework Contractors). 3. Responsible for engaging with Users, ODC, IPs and other DIO functional areas in order to contribute to the effective development of assigned projects.

4. Ensure compliance with all MOD and statutory regulations and DIO processes with appropriate governance and management controls.

5. Provide SME construction, estate and project delivery advice and support.

6. Responsible for accurate financial management and reporting of delegated projects iaw policy including supporting the scrutiny process and the development of project business cases.

7. Responsible for project and performance reporting(via TRIRIGA) and risk mitigation activities for assigned areas of responsibility.

8. Deputise for the PPD INT APM as required The main unique risk associated with this post is the requirement for fairly extensive travelling both within the UK and also overseas. The main likely risk area being Kenya
