Program Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manages all aspects of technical project and program management.
- Manages high value long term strategic projects that involve new and/or enhancing technology, are highly complex, and require tight coordination and integration with multiple organizations and suppliers.
- Provides overall direction and technical or analytical guidance to project and program teams that typically span multiple organizations and may also include outside suppliers/vendors.
- Leads large cross functional teams to manage programs within allotted timeline and budget.
- Works with external vendors and internal stakeholders to champion program/project(s) across the entire organization.
- Develops detailed work plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Leads program meetings and is responsible for program tracking and analysis.
- Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews program/project deliverables.
- Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
- Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
- Uses the NPMO management process and best practice guideline (PM Toolkit) to manage and produce deliverables to support the projects on a daily basis.
- Develops detailed work breakdown structures for each stage.
- Prepares project schedules using network scheduling techniques and constraint optimization.
- Provides scheduling and capacity recommendations to Program Manager.
- Identifies and reports on risks and jeopardies.
- Ensures that critical dates are established and managed effectively.

SKILLS

Masters of Science or Masters of Business or equivalent experience highly preferred, with 8-10 years of Telecom PM experience required. Must have proven large complex project management experience and IT Cost Management/Project Management CM/PM tool experience. Knowledge of Microsoft suites needed. PMP Certification required. Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills needed. Expertise in Microsoft Project/Excel a must. Knowledge and experience with hardware infrastructure (prior data center) required. Network Experience desired.
