Bank of America is currently looking for an experienced Product Controller - credit background- emerging market- primarily bonds, cds, loans, structured trades & Strong P&L

The Emerging Markets Local Currency Trading Middle Office team covers Rates and FX products as well as structured trades. There are various projects in progress and planned for 2015 where the Middle Office team play a supporting and/or leading role. The BAU role consists of core Product Control functions (PNL validation and reporting, Balance Sheet Review and Internal Controls).

This sets the role apart from vanilla flow trading and there is a learning opportunity here to get to grips with the finer detail of structured and complex trades, multiple strategies and an array of products within the FICC world (Rates, FX and Credit). In addition being involved in the front-to-back process and data flows including Balance Sheet substantiation leads to projects and change initiatives which form part of the role.

There is a high demand for quality information and interaction with the desk on a daily basis. The traders are highly technical and in contact with PNL controllers throughout the day, making this a fluid and vibrant space to operate in.
The successful candidate will be able to engage the desk, view risk and PNL laterally across the trading portfolio and have an appreciation and knack for attention to detail.
In terms of career progression this role provides a rewarding platform for learning and development as well as interaction with the Front Office and various Business Support Partners including cross line of business exposure.

Responsible
General Ledger reconciliation, PL preparation, Risk reconciliation and preparation, and MIS/KPI/KRI collation.

Daily responsibilities include:
*Preparation of daily P&L reports
*Reconciliation of various data sources to the ledger (includes posting adjustments to Subledger)
*Analytical review of P&L and Balance Sheet
*Risk based P&L explain and commentary
*Interaction with the Front Office regarding daily P&L and trader queries
*Communication of issues to senior management

Monthly responsibilities include:
*Reconciliation between the subledger and general ledger
*Month-end postings to the general ledger
*Project work is expected
*Process enhancement initiatives and system testing
*MIS and controls reporting

The position requires extensive interaction with the trading desk and support partners in Finance, Operations and Technology. Experienced and passionate within the Product control space, your role will require the following:
*Understanding of the market and market drivers of the product(s) you are supporting.
*Strong understanding of the operational risks around the end to end product life cycle
*Knowledge and understanding of Fixed Income derivative products and/or Rates products
*Middle Office or Product Control experience
*Delivering as part of a team while being self sufficient
*Effective communication with various business partners (Trading, Operations, Finance)

Essential Skills

*Strong controls mindset
*Working to tight deadlines
*Proficiency in Excel (including data analysis, presentation, formulas and pivot tables)
*Ability to challenge and improve existing processes

Nice to have
*VBA and other coding skills eg Python
*ACA/CIMA/CFA (Qualified or Studying, beneficial but not a necessity)
