Process Control Engineer

Process Control Engineer with experience in chemical manufacturing, DCS, and Process Hazard analysis is needed immediately to oversee manufacturing operations with a global leader. This is a temp to Permanent or direct hire opportunity located south of Houston, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Providing technical guidance and establishing standards for the safety and process control automation systems for the site and departments
- DCS Lifecycle planning an maintenance including migration of Provox
- Migrate, manage and upgrade Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) functions

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelors or Masters in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or degree in Instrumentation with 5+ years experience as a Process Controls Engineer
- Knowledge and prior participation in Process Hazard Analysis and ability to apply Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) to high hazard scenarios
- Knowledge of the requirements of ISA84.2004 and strong programming and programming design skills as applied to batch process control, data communication, data collection and display systems
- Prior experience with DCS programming and management
- Understanding of the reliability, documentation and Management of Change requirements imposed by processcontrol systems
- Demonstrated ability to apply Continuous Improvement Tools and have strong initiative to identify and address areas for improvement
