Principal Engineer/Electronics

The role: Lead Electronics Engineer
Contract: 6months
Rate: Negotiable
Location: Birmingham
Client: Lead design and development of Aerospace engine controllers

The Lead Engineer will be responsible for a team of engineers to ensure they deliver Project commitments to plan and have the right functional competency.

This position is a leadership role within the Electronics Engineering team, which is part of the Component Engineering Electronic Units organisation.

Key Accountabilities:

*Technical responsibility for the full life cycle of engineering methods, defined to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
*Solutions must demonstrate traceable compliance to both internal and external requirements.
*Maintaining overall control of the resource allocated to the team.
*Building and maintaining relationships with project and stakeholder interfaces.
*These working relationships will include CDS engineering project teams and Rolls-Royce customers.
*Responsibility for developing and managing project estimates.
*Managing project performance.
*Responsibility for ensuring and demonstrating compliance with project/package requirements.
*Technical approval of project delivery documentation.
*Coordination of the project certification activities through liaison with the authorities for certification and planning and provision of certification documentation.
*Participation in reviews and audits in order to maintain departmental and company standards and procedures.
*Participation in and leading of functional activities such as strategy development, global process standardisation and improvements.
*Specifically, leading the development and roll out of key method improvement programmes.

Qualifications

*Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience.
*Strong engineering background, preferably in an Electronic engineering, with a working knowledge of product design, manufacturing and verification methods.
