Petroleum Economist, Upstream Oil & Gas, London, c. £125k Petroleum Economist: I am currently working with a very exciting client - the UK Exploration wing of one of the world's largest Oil & Gas companies. This division has just acquired a significant number of assets, which hopefully will result in them more than tripling their production over the next few years. The company are as a result growing rapidly and continuing to look for key strategic acquisitions to help develop their portfolio. The main focus of the role will be in economic analysis to support critical decision making. Specific responsibilities include: + preparing corporate and project economics + ensuring consistency in all economics produced + carrying out prospect economics for exploration and farm-in opportunities + reviewing Economic Models + transaction origin and execution + working with the international business to ensure consistency across the organisation's economic analysis + co-ordinating the New Ventures economic modelling approach To be considered for this challenging and varied role, you must have the following skills/qualifications: + significant experience in preparing and using upstream oil & gas economic models, for both UKCS and overseas projects + strong knowledge of the fiscal requirements for UKCS projects, including PRT + excellent Excel knowledge + familiar with upstream economic software, including Merak Peep This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to get involved with a growing business at an early stage, and could really boost the career of whoever takes on this challenge successfully.
