Oracle DBA

Position: Senior Oracle DBA Location: Jersey City, NJ 6+ month Contract; Looking to extend contract terms or turn full time Investment Banking Start Date: End of September (estimated) Main Function This role is for a level 2 production support Senior Oracle DBA who as part of a global team will provide on-site coverage during US hours and be part of a team to provide off-hour and weekend coverage. The role demands deep understanding or Oracle database technology and how to apply various tools to resolve production issues. It's important to be able to resolve issues quickly under stressful circumstances. This role requires someone to follow proper change and incident management policies and ensure that production stability and resiliency is never compromised. RAC experience is necessary to support Exadata environment. Person Requirements · Experience managing medium to large scale databases servicing OLTP and DSS applications · Experience with designing and implementing Oracle database High Availability and Disaster Recovery strategies using RAC, Dataguard, Streams, GoldenGate, Shareplex and etc. · Solid understanding of Oracle database internal architecture · Extensive experience with Backup and Recovery using Oracle RMAN. · Performance tuning of database and SQL statements · Strong skills in Oracle 10G & 11G with ASM Oracle Enterprise Manager, Grid Control, Linux, Unix with Shell Scripting (or equivalent scripting language), Erwin and Microsoft Office tools · Oracle RAC experience is required · Exadata experience is a plus If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply with an updated resume
