Oracle 11g DBA, Long term Contract (French Speaking)

Proteus Europe is searching for an Oracle 11g DBA for a French speaking long term contract role in Belgium.

Your New role :-

Role and responsibilities:

The following list of tasks applies to the profiles for the DBA role. This list is not exhaustive and may evolve in time, as the work progresses:

- Analysis and specification of operational requirements
- Analysis and specification of operational processes
- Analysis and specification of technical requirements
- Development of scripts to automate and monitor recurrent systems related tasks
- Definition of test strategies, test design, and testing of computing systems and networks
- Change and Configuration management
- Capacity management
- Risk management
- Operational support (2nd tier)

. Installation and configuration of all relevant hardware and software
. Daily monitoring
. Incident and problem management
. Reporting
. Coordination with 3rd party maintenance contractors
- Technical assessment of technologies and related products
- All types of technical documentation, operational guidelines and procedures
- Technical training and guidance
- Reporting

. Database systems (Oracle)
. Evaluation, design, implementation and monitoring of DB security, including DB user management and follow-up
. Elaboration of operational DB guidelines and procedures
. Technical DB change and configuration management activities
. Assists developers to make efficient use of the DB
. Physical implementation of DB, including creating and managing specific DB storage structures, and watching and predicting DB growth
. implement high-availability solutions (clusters, log shipping)
. Liaise with backup engineers for DB backups and restores
. Conception and implementation of disaster/recovery solutions
. Follow-up DB tasks, jobs and routines
. Monitoring and managing DB performance
. Diagnose, repair errors of failures linked to DB technology

Your Skills and experience :-

Essential Skills :-
- Security Clearances required but at moment of start of mission
- Overall Practice in IT Minimum number of years: 7 (but 12 in case of Batchelor Education) (7 years min)
- Specific Practice Design, integration, deployment and operation of Oracle database solutions (7 years min)
- Certifications Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) Oracle 11g Release 1 or higher
- Methodologies Performance tuning, database optimization (5 years min)
- IDE/Programming Languages SQL (4 years min), Windows Scripting (5 years min)

Desirable Skills :-
- Other Products/Tools

. Backup and Recovery using RMAN (4 years min)
. Unix/Linux (2 years min)
. High-availability solutions: standby DBs and/or Clustering (Oracle Clusterware and/or RAC and/or Oracle Failsafe) (2 years min)
. Oracle Weblogic 11g (1 years min)
