OIP Systems Engineer - Management

This is a job opportunity with Government for a 6 month contract (possible extension).

The position will be a management level role where you will not be expected to be "on-hands", instead provide management and advice on the relevant matters.

Duties for the OIP Systems Engineer will include:

- To undertake line management responsibilities i.a.w MOD policy and published timescales.
- Act as Deputy to Senior Engineer and be capable of discharging their duties in their absence.
- Create Engineering Management Plans for projects or incorporate engineering management activities within project management plans as appropriate. Help undertake and manage these outputs to help ensure successful delivery of projects and outputs.
- To lead on OIP equipment improvement activities. Including identification of any technical issues, maintenance improvements, safety issues in OIP equipment. Highlighting any issues to stakeholders and exploring any options to improve OIP equipment once deficiencies or improvements have been identified.
- Direct and engage in research activities that are relevant to OIP business outputs. To be the forward facing point of contact between OIP and; DSTL, D Tech, external research agents and Principle Engineers Office.
- To Inform and help delivery areas and Requirements Manager in implementing the results of any research that might benefit the OSP team outputs.
- Act as lead within the team on; GBA, SOSA, LOSA, INCOSE and ISO 15288. Help promote and adopt a systems of systems approach in accordance with ISO 15288 and the application and evolution of the GBA defence standard 23-08. This is to include identifying pan-organisational Systems Engineering activities.
- Manage and schedule Technical support activities to the of the team and prioritise, according to business needs and required deliverables Including; technical guidance, Test & Trials support and requirements engineering support.
- Act as OIP technical focal point for analysis of AESPs identifying possible remedial actions that could impact on system use or safety.
- Provide Systems Engineering expertise to projects within OIP using Architecture Frameworks, System Boundaries, Emergent Properties and providing integration advice.
