Network Security Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provides network security customer support in a shared environment supporting multiple customers in a Fault Management and MACD Change Management operations support structure for new a large number of clientele.
- Builds, designs and supports Network Based Security infrastructure to provide security on Mobile devices, laptops, smartphones and mobile handsets.
- Responsible for general architecture, initial configurations and subsequent management of one or more SIEM (Security Event and Information Management) systems.
- Provides 7x24 production support to accept, operate, and maintain security elements.
- Identifies security incidents, provides supporting information to clients, and supports the client through containment and remediation during setup and initial phases of project.
- Troubleshoots end-to-end network and application connectivity.
- Manages authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA).
- Performs intermediary connectivity provisioning, application and network troubleshooting, policy audits, and preventive maintenance on network security elements.
- Conducts network risk assessments on all work performed.

SKILLS

Bachelors degree required in CS/EE or equivalent.

CRITICAL REQUIRED SKILLS WITH AT LEAST 2-4+ YEARS EXPERIENCE:
Cisco ASA Firewall and Checkpoint NG (Next Generation)
Firewall experience running on Nokia and Sun platforms.

CRITICAL SKILL REQUIRED WITH AT LEAST 4+ YEARS EXPERIENCE:
Cisco Router configuration and troubleshooting experience.
Must have at least one year of entry-level Unix (Solaris/Linux) experience.
Must have expertise in TCP/IP. Intermediate security technology experience is required.
Good customer service skills are needed.

The following skills and experience are preferred but not required:
Fortinet Firewall,
Blue Coat Proxy,
Juniper Netscreen Firewall, and Cisco IDS experience,
VPN (Nortel/Cisco).

The following security-related certifications are preferred but not required:
CISSP,
All Cisco certifications,
Checkpoint CCSA and/or CCSE,
Nokia and SUN Microsystems.

MUST BE A US CITIZEN ABLE TO OBTAIN SECURITY CLEARANCE.
