Network Security Analyst

NETWORK SECURITY consultant is needed to join an internal IT Support company at their offices in Valencia, Spain. Working closely with an existing Network & Firewall Administration team, as well as other technical consultants, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the security of the client's Firewall and IT environment. This is an English speaking role, although Spanish language skills would be advantageous.

Network Security Responsibilities:

. Focus on Firewall change requests raised by technical teams and by customer organisations
. Analyze IDS reports and identification of critical issues
. Start relevant security investigation processes and follow-up on the resolution and clearance actions
. Review Firewall log unusual entries and investigate the exceptions
. Monitor Firewall clusters health statuses and report accordingly
. Monitor Firewall management Servers and verify if security policies back-ups are being taken and if logs are being archived
. Monitor server decommissioning requests and verify if related Firewall rules removal requests are being raised and performed
. Audit and review Firewall rule bases and logs and clean-up process of obsolete or no hits rules, re-sequence rules according to the number of hits and critical services priority
. Verify if important and critical services accesses are logged
. Provide monthly report on Firewall changes and implementations
. Interface with Security Officers and Network Engineers on the implementation of Firewall configuration best practices
. Perform network vulnerability scanning on critical networks and DMZ's
. Identifying network security problems through manual or automatic testing, configuration and system logs inspections
. Create and maintain network diagrams and document the security implementation for critical services and major applications
. Assist system administrators when necessary with new services implementation, risk assessment and security breach counter-measures implementation

Security skills needed:

. 2/3 years of experience managing, configuring and troubleshooting Checkpoint Firewall & Cisco ASA Firewall.
. Ability to work with NESSUS and other network scanning tools
. Excellent knowledge and experience of Cisco Routers and Switches
. Checkpoint Firewall and other Network security related training and certifications
. Excellent English language skills
. Spanish skills are a bonus
. Ability to live and work in Spain
