Network Control Centre Operator (Helpdesk Support)

Network Control Operators are needed to join a global ICT organisation at their office in Brindisi, Italy. An initial contract period of 3 months may be extended based on performance. Basic IT and network knowledge is needed, although experience of HP Openview (HPOV), Network Node Manager (NNM), HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) or similar network monitoring tools will help you secure this role.

NCC Operator duties:

. Provide network application monitoring services
. Handle service requests
. Monitor all incidents related to voice and data network, Servers and applications
. Monitor and ensure the proper data flow for email services
. Make initial assessments of user requests, detect possible problems and escalate to other levels of support if needed
. Monitor Internet connectivity
. Maintain activity logs
. Prepare shift reports on incidents
. Work on a shift rota (normally 12 hours)

Support experience required:

. IT and networking knowledge. This is a junior level role requiring 1 or 2 years experience or at least secondary school education
. Basic knowledge of satellite communication and voice technologies
. ITIL Service Management knowledge
. Telephone support experience in a help desk environment and network/data centres
. Experience with HPOV NNM, HP SIM or similar network monitoring tools is preferred
. Knowledge of Cisco Routers and Switches and LAN, WAN, SAN and EMC solutions
. Lotus Notes administration, replication and email knowledge is preferred
. Familiarity with Windows 2000/2003, Linux or Unix operating systems
. Fluency in English
