MS SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR/PRODUCTION SUPPORTER

On behalf of our client, a leading global company within finance, we are looking for a MS SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR. For this contract position based in Zürich in Switzerland our client is looking for an English speaking candidate who can start as soon as possible. Your main responsibilities will be:

- Technical management and coordination of issues and projects primarily involving installation, configuration and on-going administration tasks on MS SQL databases
- Upgrade and migrate databases
- Involved in the configuration management and backup recovery
- Troubleshooting, tuning assistance and query optimization assistance

The skills and experience needed for this position are:

- 5+ years experience as MS SQL Database Administrator
- 3+ years experience in production support
- Experience working in the financial sector
- Good knowledge of:
- Windows operating system
- SQL Server Clustering based on Windows Server 2003/2008 with of VERITAS clustering and volume manager
- Knowledge of installing and configuring SQL Server- Reporting Services, Integrations Services, Analysis Services
- Sybase RDBMS/Sybase IQ skills is a plus
- German is a big plus
