LOCATION: CARY, NC

DURATION: 6 MONTHS

JOB DESCRIPTION

The key technology platforms that Engineering Services focuses on are messaging (eg JMS, MQ, Solace), data integration (ETL, change data capture), distributed caching (Memcached, Oracle Coherence) and grid scheduling (Tibco Data Synapse). The team takes these external technology products and engineers them to be utilized in the environment. We utilize a product driven approach where we provide these services to our clients, the application development teams, in a manner similar to a software provider. The Engineering Services team works closely with application development teams and production management organization that operate the platforms we deliver.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Technical Specialist will work as part of the Engineering Services team in Cary Qualified candidates must have technology expertise in the Messaging domain coupled with experience of executing product engineering practices. Candidates must be collaborative, client focused and able to deliver world class engineering services to our clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engineering a Core Messaging solution to be used by the various asset classes globally in the bank.
Providing architectural recommendations to business for their Core Messaging needs.
Developing tools and solutions for the messaging service around Design, HA/DR, Monitoring, Capacity and Best Practices.
Writing technical documentation, including design documentation, training materials, and white papers
Platform delivery including packaging, installation, and configuration
Ensuring all deliverables adhere to DBGT's standards and procedures
Platform support including troubleshooting, contributing to root cause analysis, and problem resolution
Platform quality assurance testing, including functional, performance/scalability, and regression testing
Identifying and assessing risks, determining impact to platform and mitigation plans
Level 3 support

Technical Skills:

Advanced knowledge and experience in Administration and engineering WebSphere MQ in distributed systems ( Unix, Linux, Windows, ) including monitoring.
Experience with MQIPT is a plus.
Strong programming experience in at least one of: C, C++, Java, and/or .NET
Experience with Web Technologies and Tools: HTTP, XML, SOAP, Web Services
Experience with Unix Technologies and Tools is a plus: Solaris, SUSE Linux, Bash, Ksh, Perl, Python and Systems Administration skills
Experienced and proficient with providing Service Level 3 support
Knowledge of network, system security and SSL

Experience and Education

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in an IT related discipline (or equivalent diploma/work experience)
