Our client is urgently looking for a strong Java Technical Designer Software Quality Controller with strong experience in Java, Maven, Restful design, Spring Framework,Junit, Load balances, HTML, CSS, WAS, HP ALM, Continuous Integration, Sonar Qube and implementing a green field application, Object Oriented Design to work on a critical project in Brussels, Belgium

A successful candidate will have strong skills in:

. have experience in designing and implementing a greenfield application
. have experience in making design decisions for applications in maintenance
. Object Oriented Design
. have an advanced level of experience in the following Java-stack
. Java 7 - 8 years plus
. RESTful design
. Dependency Injection/IoC
. Spring MVC
. Spring REST
. Spring Cache
. Experience in the other Spring-projects is a plus
. Unit testing frameworks like Junit, Mockito, DBUnit.
. Database design & Hibernate ORM
. SOAP web services (producing and consuming): Contract-first, WSDL, JMS/JMX
. Load balancing
. Session management
. Caching (ehcache/Spring Cache)
. HTML, CSS, JavaScript (JQuery, experience with other ES5/ES6 frameworks or libraries is a plus)
. Spring STS
. Pivotal TC-Server
. WAS v8.5.5
. Experience with TeamSite/LiveSite is a plus
. Experience with application security (OAM/Spring Security) is a plus
. TFS as source versioning control
. have experience with HP ALM
. have experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.
. are capable to analyze results produced by SonarQube

The role:

You are capable to work as a Technical Designer and Software Quality Controller in a hybrid way. The ratio can vary based on the demand and workload from 10/90 to 90/10.

As a Technical Designer you

. are responsible for the technical solution and accountable of delivery and quality of the development
. support the Project leader and Service responsible in the definition and the establishment of their Java technical needs
. will follow the architecture, design and development guidelines, rules and recommendations
. will lead and coach developers realizing the implementation
. will take an active participation in the design phase of project or service maintenance
. will provide active collaboration in project planning for the technical implementation and regular reporting and feedback to the project leader
. will collaborate actively with the functional/business analyst in order to determine the best functional solution
. determine Unit Testing and Integration test
. can take an active role in developing the core or complex module
. provide technical advice to tactical managers when requested
. assist IS governance in the establishment of standards
. assist IS architecture in the realization of consultancies

The Java Technical Designer is seen in IS M&S as a key person that is responsible to validate the feasibility and determine the best technical solution in order to get a result according the business needs, the internal rules and the continuity of the service taking into account timing, quality and budget.

. Provide feedback on the BluePrint phase
. Technical design: technical analysis, data model, unit testing, integration test
. Integration test results
. Coach assigned developers

As a Software Quality Controller you

. perform, on a regular bases, an audit/Software Quality Control (or SQC) of the entire software engineering process (requirements, testing, code) of ongoing projects which you don't participate yourself.
. determine the approach of performing a SQC together with the project leader
. are responsible of estimating the workload and planning of the SQC with respect to your responsibilities as an Technical Designer.
. will deliver a report of the SQC to the project leader and service delivery manager
. establish an action plan, together with the project leader, based on the recommendations you made in your SQC report.

This is an English speaking role. French or Dutch would be beneficial
