Java Architect

Our direct client in the North West DC Metro area is looking for an expert level Java Architect for a contract position. Primary responsibilities are providing architecture and infrastructure support to the client's Internet Customers Application Infrastructure.

You will work with development project teams and peers to provide solutions, input and guidance on application design deliverables as well as enforce the use of best practices and standards defined and agreed upon across multiple technology platforms.

Must have a proven track record in recommending architectural solutions as well as obtaining buy-in and instituting processes resulting in successful application implementations. This position includes after hours support as needed.

Required:

- Architect experience
- 5+ years Java/J2EE design and development
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
- Solid understanding OO and SOA.
- Proven track record in delivering successful projects.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to work through others
- Mentoring abilities
- A BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is required

Plusses:

- .NET experience
- Guidewire experience
