IT Infrastructure Project Manager Job

IT INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT MANAGER needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Charlotte, NC.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Five (5+) years of Infrastructure PM experience.
- Server/Storage upgrade or migration experience.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for managing and directing one or more project teams to meet complex project objectives.
- Reviews, evaluates and formulates project plans, schedules and budgets.
- Organizes and guides project operations through the use of project methodologies.
- Evaluates development and reports progress in terms of quality and performance metrics common to IT projects.
- Works with departments to coordinate systems testing, installation, training, communications and support.
- May contribute to the disaster recovery plan and implement when necessary.
- Utilizes PMI project management methodologies
- Responsible for funding and budget of projects
- Negotiates deliverables from initial requirements to final implementation across multiple business units and functional areas
- Can coordinate moderate numbers of staff to manage one or more cross functional projects of medium to high complexity.
- Creates project plans and teamwork assignments, identifies resource needs, directs daily work efforts, and tracks key project milestones.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Ability to apply Project Management methodologies and tools
- Ability to meet scheduled milestones to ensure project objectives are met in a timely manner and has in-depth knowledge of the principals, theories, practices and techniques for managing the activities related to planning, managing and implementing infrastructure projects.
- Can identify issues or risks associated with a project, escalating them and possibly implementing mitigation strategies for risk prevention and timely resolution.
- Ability to analyze business unit technology needs, dissecting complex problems.
- Ability to track and monitor project execution, regularly updating project plans and status reports.
- Project Management experience with infrastructure teams, networking, Servers (physical and virtual), VMware, server (upgrades and migrations), data management, security, operations, disaster recovery, desktop, and Storage (SAN, NAS).
- Experience in multiple areas of technology.
- Experience with scheduling, technical direction, future planning and standard deployment practices.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- PMP Preferred.
