IHS Apache Unix Support Analyst - English Speaking Contract in Zurich

For a global bank based here in Zurich we are looking for a Support Analyst to join the team.

TASK & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Main focus of this position is maintenance and migration of our Web & J2EE environments as well as the integration & consulting work related to the applications hosted on this platform responsible for administering, maintaining, enhancing and implementing system changes from small components, to entire complex web technology related systems infrastructure, adhering to the established industry standards.
- Ensures that the operation of the infrastructure is in accordance with established procedures and practices
- Take action if the infrastructure availability, integrity or performance is compromised
- Work closely with technical teams in the support and enhancement of the core infrastructure to ensure better reliability and resilience, whilst at the same time making the environment more cost effective suggest recommendations about enhancements to the existing infrastructure

DELIVERABLES:

- build, decommissioning and support of our Web & J2EE application
- analyse and resolve infrastructure related application incidents
- occasionally provide OnCall/weekend support

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

- several years experience in IHS, APACHE. Tomcat and/or WebSphere - nice to have
- Application Server administration in a demanding technical environment, preferably in the financial industry
- excellent UNIX knowledge (Solaris & RedHat) - at Support level (not Administration)
- a good understanding of aspects of connectivity using web services or messaging
- experience with load and performance aspects of JEE applications and infrastructure
- incident and problem management using various tools
- experience with performance monitoring applications (ex. Wily/CA Introscope)
- strong client focus and pragmatic working approach excellent communication in English
