IBM Mainframe Senior z/OS Performance Specialist

IBM MAINFRAME SENIOR Z/OS PERFORMANCE SPECIALIST

Saudi Business Machines Ltd (IBM) is looking for a Senior Performance and Tuning specialist to work in an n-Way z/OS Parallel Sysplex environment. The Contractor shall provide performance tuning and analysis, capacity planning and report on Mainframe usage and trends including the following support services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Track system utilization, daily, to determine if problems are imminent.
- Monitor and provide daily reports on system performance to pinpoint performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with other department including but not limited to CICS, DB2, zWAS and application to determine root cause of performance issues and propose permanent solutions
- On an as needed basis, propose system options and parameters.
- Provide reports for workload forecasting.
- Perform Capacity planning, performance management, WLM
- Monitor and adjust WLM Goals based on system indicators from RMF
- Diagnose and fix performance problems through system parameters and resource configuration.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong skill in performance tuning tools and techniques
- Strong skill in z/OS operating system internals
- Strong skill in WLM, RMF, and SMF
- Knowledge of RMF Spreadsheet reporter is a Major plus
- Extensive knowledge of technologies related to complete product family and knowledge or related product families within product line
- Knowledge of distributed processing is a plus
- Strong teamwork skills for cross-group cooperation
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Strong CICS, DB2, zwAS and MQSERIES experience a plus
- Knowledge ofIBMand CA monitoring tools
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Complex problem solving skills
- Strong self-motivational drive
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science is mandatory
- Technical certifications are also a plus.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science a plus
