HR Advisor/HR Consultant required for a leading defence company based in RAF Cranwell. Lincolnshire.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Advise major stakeholders on a range of HR related activities including; recruitment, Terms and Conditions of employment, absence management, equal opportunities, relocation and redundancy, performance management and employee relations in accordance with Company policies and procedures
- Manage a varied Employee Relations caseload, dealing with complex and sensitive matters. Attend and advise on disciplinary and grievance meetings when needed
- Identify probable risks linked with employee relations issues and understand the potential business impact of a variety of HR actions. Proactively ensure outcomes are integrated back into the performance cycle
- Manage redundancy situations with line managers, advise on Company/statutory procedure, prepare financial statements, conduct consultation and assist in redeployment
- Foster a professional working relationship with recognised Trade Unions within the respective areas Air contracts to allow for effective employee involvement and consultation throughout the business
- Empower and support operational line managers on issues that arise from areas such as absence and performance
- Promote and facilitate a respect for diversity and equal opportunities across all areas of employment
- Build effective and professional working relationships with the operational managers in order to integrate the HR function into daily business planning
- Work with Occupational Health Advisors to ensure that there is on-going management of attendance and health surveillance
- Assist with the management of the recruitment process and attend interviews if absolutely necessary. Ensure a fair and consistent recruitment process is undertaken by the hiring manager liaising with the Company's external recruitment provider where necessary, and ensuring the Corporate Covenant is fully observed at all times
- To help co-ordinate the PDR cycle, ensuring annual appraisals and 6 monthly reviews are carried out meaningfully and in a timely manner
- Proactively manage queries and issues, directing them via the correct channels to the Managers and administration teams in accordance with the specific contracts.
- To undertake or contribute to specific HR related projects as requested
- Provide relevant Management Information and analysis reports where necessary
- Support the management of TUPE Transfers both incoming and outgoing. Meet with new or current employer, consulting with affected employees, conduct due diligence on TUPE data and ensure smooth transition
- Contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures
- Looks for ways in which the function and its practices can develop and improve
- Ensure employee records are maintained accurately guaranteeing a strict adherence to Data Protection requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

- Experience of operational, day to day HR activities, at an Advisory level
- Ability to operate with a high degree of independence and to work remotely across multiple sites CIPD qualified or equivalent. Evidence of CPD (Desirable)
- Working knowledge and experience of TUPE end to end
- Maintain current and up to date knowledge of employment law
- Able to quickly grasp the business context of theBusiness Unit, including the challenges each contract is facing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook
- Experience of a proprietary HR MIS
