As the successful HR Advisor your main role will be to ensure efficient and effective provision of competent, professional and accessible HR support to the Oxford Regional Centre and its client units. 

You will implement the HR processes whilst managing employee relations; dealing with disciplinarians and grievances. Delivering new and revised policies within specified timeframes; overseeing equality impact assessments for all new/revised policies. Minimising disputes and employment tribunal costs through effective implementation of policies, engaging with Unions, Senior Management, Line Managers and staff with all new and revised policies. Overseeing the recruitment process, including the management and distribution of job descriptions and if required, ensure that transferees are logged on payroll and HR systems.

Before applying for this role you should be/have:

- Studying towards a CIPD qualification or part-Qualified CIPD

or Equivalent experience - Proven experience at HR Officer Level
- Proven administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Strong attention to detail and focus on high quality work
- Experience of maintaining strong networking relationships
- Ability to manage a high volume of work in order to meet deadlines, both prescribed and self-imposed
- Proven experience of working with HR database
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, in particular Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

You will be at an advantage if you possess the following:

- Relevant Business Studies or Human Resources degree or qualification
- Experience of working with a Shared Services Centre
- Previous experience of working in science/academia
- Familiarity with Oracle HR

1. First line contact/First level of support for employees and managers on general terms and conditions of employment. Working within the guidelines of MRC policies and procedures to provide general advice and escalating issues to the HRBP in a timely manner.
2. To act as the Learning & Development coordinator for the region, liaising with UKSBS to arrange training courses, organising training rooms and facilities, liaising with candidates, assessing training needs etc
3. Provide support to HRBP's and Senior HRBP in employee relation casework, including the preparation of documentation, minute taking and report writing.
4. Liaise with third parties such as Ensign for quotations, Occupational Health for referrals and invoices, and UKSBS for HR administration, queries updates.
5. Carry out HR administration for the regional centre and regularly liaise with UKSBS on transactional processes and procedures.
6. Collaborate and liaise with the Oxford Regional Centre teams in Finance and Contracts where necessary.
7. Contribute proactively and undertake project work as directed by the HRBP, working collaboratively with other members of the project teams as appropriate.
8. Act as an ambassador for the HR team. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with management and employees throughout the MRC
