For our client in Geneva we are looking for an
HPC Consultant
Start: January 2018
End: January 2020
Location: Geneva
Workload: 100%
TASKS:
- Support on porting users applications to the new infrastructure.
- Help users to analyze and optimize their codes for optimal performance.
- Assist users in solving problems in their applications.
- Share best practices among users to optimize the utilization.
- Focal point for customer application issues and their escalation.
- Documentation of changes and optimizations applied to the program.
- Knowledge transfer to EPFL's personnel.
SKILLS NEEDED:
Knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- processor architecture, InterconnecT topology, GPU.
- CUDA and/or Python programming.
- Basic Scripting in bash/csh.
- Knowledge of parallel file systems (Lustre/GPFS).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- M.Sc or Ph.D in Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
- 3- 5 years working with high performance systems in sciences.
- Demonstrated experience with parallel programming and application analysis.
- Excellent knowledge of programming languages - C/C++.
- Good working knowledge of MPI, OpenMP.
- Working experience with a Distributed Resource Manager (PBS/SLURM/Torque) as a user
- Experience with Linux OS.
- Experience in a customer facing role/consulting role.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong customer oriented attitude.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
LANGUAGES:
- French is the preferred onsite language
- English is also mandatory
